TO THE HONOURABLE THE PRESIDENT AND MEMBERS OF THE SENATE

This petition of citizens from the Victorian Electorate of Albert Park draws to the attention of the Senate the failure to pass in the Senate the Bills creating the Carbon Pollution Reduction Scheme. This is a matter of national significance, affecting Australia’s economic and environmental future. We therefore ask the Senate as a matter of urgency to fully support the Carbon Pollution Reduction Scheme when it is next introduced.

Why not vent your spleen to the political parties or the Senators that failed the nation and failed to pass the CPRS. Maybe just ask them why they are voting that way or tell them just how dissappointed we all are that they missed this important opportunity.

Why not call or email your local MP or councillor who is a member of a Political Party opposed to the Carbon Pollution Reduction Scheme. By telling them how you feel maybe they will convey that there really is a swell of community support for a CPRS.

Why the website?

This website is firstly part of a local campaign to alert residents to reality of climate change and how it can affect our community; secondly information to bring residents up to date with the latest developments in seeking solutions to reduce our carbon pollution; and thirdly your local state member Martin Foley MP invites you to join this local campaign to convince our federal lawmakers to put a price on carbon.

Climate Change is now unavoidable; but the option to do something today that will make a difference shouldn't be avoided. An Australian national CPRS is a small step on a global level, but an important first step and example to the rest of the world.
